Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28th the 28th of October, 1967. She comes from the fourth Roberts family who resided in Atlanta. This began with her great grandfather John Pendleton Roberts who was farmer. Her father was a young man when he began to take an interest in theater. While in school in Emory University in 1952 he was a part of productions at Emory University and in Atlanta. When he joined in 1953 the Air force in Biloxi, he was seen alongside Betty Lou Bredemus in Biloxi. In 1955, the couple got married and, in 1956, their son Eric Anthony was born. Walter was enrolled in Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana. In the year 1957, they were discharged from the air force and Walter began his studies at Tulane. In 1960 the family moved into Decatur Georgia where Walter began working at Atlanta's Academy Theater and the Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. Walter as well as Betty Lou financed their own production of a local children's Sunday matinee show called Bum Bum and His Buddies. In the following year, they established The Actors and Writers Workshop which ran for a period of six years. They were joined by Lelisa Billingsley (also known as Lisa) as well as Julia (also called Julie) at the time.
