Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28th the 28th of October, 1967. Roberts is fourth in the Roberts generation that has lived in Atlanta starting with her farmer great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts. At an early age his father became obsessed with theatre. In 1952, while an undergraduate at Emory University, he performed on stage in a number of shows in Atlanta. Following his air force service and appearing in an air force production in Biloxi along with Betty Lou Bredemus. In 1955, the couple married and in 1956 their child Eric Anthony was born. Walter was an undergraduate at Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana. In 1957 they were discharged from the air force and Walter began studying at Tulane University. Walter was employed by Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio to be a part of the production team for the television show Bum Bum His Buddies. The show was filmed in Decatur Georgia. Walter along with Betty Lou began producing a children's television program in the city of Decatur, Georgia titled Bum Bum and His Buddies. The production was funded by the couple their own. They also founded the Actors and Writers Workshop in the same year, which ran for six years. The couple had another two children. Lelisa Billingsley (1965) (also known by the name Lisa) as well as Julia Billingsley (1967) (also known by the same name Julie).
