Amber Benson bio

Amber Benson, an American singer-songwriter director and producer is also a writer. She is best known for her part as Tara Maclay on the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer and she has also produced and appeared in her own films Chance as well as Lovers Liars & Lunatics. Also, she starred as Bride in Kiss the Bride movie. Benson was born on January 8, 1977 in Birmingham Alabama, daughter of Diane Benson and Edward Benson psychiatrist. Danielle, her sister is an accomplished artist. His father was Jewish as is her mom. She was born and raised in the state of Alabama. Southern Baptist Benson grew up attending the Reform synagogue in Alabama. Benson has appeared involved in numerous TV and movie shows since Buffy was over, most notably The Killing Jar. While behind the lens, Benson used her creative talents to develop The Ghosts of Albion television series. In 2010, she also directed Drones. Buffy says that she took the time to count and find the Slayers, she discovered at least 1800 Slayers all over the world of which 500 are associated with The Scooby Gang.
